*One surprise was that Bethleham was chosen as the place for Jesus to enter the world
*Then there was the surprise of Elizabeth's pregnancy at such an old age
*Today we consider Mary's surprise-- That God would choose a humble peasant teenager, who was unmarried, to give birth to the very Sn of God!
*This song is often called the "Magnificant", from the first words of Mary in the latin translation of the bible portion. Mary begins her song with the words
"My soul magnifies the Lord"
*God chose her because of His mercy
Mary magnifies the Lord and his mazing love
God magnifies us in his love
*Today the Lord extends his mercy to us. He came to us in person of his son to be born, to die on a cross, to rise again from the grave, and to give us victory over Satan, sin, and death.
We magnifiy God's amazing love
*But how do we magnifiy Him during this Christmas season?
*Like Mary, we praise and thank God in faith for providing for all our needs.
*Mary's son points us to God's goodness and love so that we are moved to thanksgiving
HOW DO WE MAGNIFIY GOD'S AMAZING LOVE?
*By telling others about Him
This is what Christmas is all about. It is about telling poeple of God's amazing love.

Bad News: There is a hell and apart from a relationship with
Jesus Christ that's our destination.
Good News: God has made through his son Jesus that all who would
respond to him could receive eternal life.
*Simple advice on how to help other people avoid hell
1. What makes you interesting
*the first step is Work on youself
2.develop genuine relasonships
1. Get off thy rump
2. Pick three people
3. Live like a pegan
1 Corinthians 9:19-22 (NIV)
Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.

You must make your choice. Ether this man was, and is, the Son of
God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up
for a fool, you can spit at Him and call Him a demon; or you can
fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with
any patronizing nonsense about His being a great moral teacher.
He has not left that open for us. He did not intend to.
-- C.S. Lewis --
Someone once asked, "Ifind it absolutely ridiculous to think that
God would send an amazingly good person who isn't a Christian to
Hell. Will he do that?
How would you have answered that question.
Given all the good this person has done, do I honestly think this
person will go to hell if they don't become Christianbefore they
Apocalyptic urgency is the all-consuming conviction
that overtakes you when you realize that hell is real, and that
it is within your power to help people aviod going there.
Hebrews 9:27 tells us, "people are destined to die once, and after
that face judgment."
If everyone goes to heaven, why bother with Jesus at all?
Why attend church?
Why share your faith with others?
I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit—I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises.
It's not insanity that drives us to reach out to those going to hell, but LOVE
LOVE COMPLES. LOVE DRIVES US. LOVE CAUSES US TO RISK WHATEVER STANDS IN THE WAY TO HELP PEOPLE COME TO A SAVING RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST.
Apocalyptic urgency is what drove the great Christian missionaries and martyrs of the past sacrifice personal ambition, comfort, and security to advance the message of Jesus.

The great Christian revolutions come not by the discovery of
something that was known before. They happen when
somebody takes radically something that was always there.

Matthew 14:22-33 (NIV)
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. 25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” 29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” 32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
